The acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the organization. The organization will not accept any gift unless it can be used or spent in a manner consistent with the purpose and mission of Women Rising for Africa.
No irrevocable gift, whether outright or lifetime, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the financial security of the donor.
The organization will refrain from advising on the tax or other treatment of donations and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisors to assist them in the process of making their donation.
Gifts of cash or listed securities will be accepted.
Certain other gifts, real estate, personal property, gifts-in-kind, illiquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is otherwise restricted, must be reviewed prior to acceptance because of the special obligations they pose or liabilities they may pose for Women Rising for Africa.
The organization will provide donors with tax-compliant acknowledgements of receipt for property received by the charity as a donation. However, except for cash donations and publicly traded securities, no value will be attributed to any receipt or other form of substantiation for a donation received.
The donor's intention will be respected in relation to donations for restricted purposes and those related to the wish to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous donations, information about the donor will be restricted to only those staff members who have a need to know.
The organization will not compensate, whether through commissions, finder's fees or other means, any third party for directing a donation or donor to Women Rising for Africa.
